Summary
Description
This is a true beginner class to learn how to set up the sewing machine from the very beginning. If you already know how to use a sewing machine, try our Intermediate class where we learn to install zippers and make a brick shaped bag OR the clothing repairs/alterations class to learn those kinds of techniques.
If you have your own table top sewing machine, we encourage you to bring it with you! Please send me an email at freshbiscuitsbybk@gmail.com or DM me on instagram @freshbiscuits_ to let me know that you'll be bringing your own machine.
During this class you will learn:
- The names of the parts on the sewing machine
- How to thread the bobbin and entire machine
- The names of the common tools that are used to complete sewing projects
- Iron techniques to improve the end result of your project
- How to construct a tote bag
All materials and equipment are provided, unless you're bringing your own sewing machine.
Ages: 13+
Face masks are optional.
Please dress weather appropriate, the studio is not climate controlled. We will be outside and possibly in direct sunlight, so please wear sunscreen/hat if you are sensitive. I recommend wearing layers and to bring a bottle of water for yourself & maybe something quick to snack on. Also, please make sure to arrive full because you'll be surprised at how much mental energy we'll be using. Cats do wander around the property, so be advised if you're allergic. Lastly, the front door is locked and class begins on time, so please arrive 10-15 mins before so I can let you inside :)
