Learn to hand carve stamps from cork and make repeating quilt square patterns with Resident Artist Sarah Lamphere
Description
In this course, we will be crafting handmade stamps using cork and other inexpensive material to create “quilting squares.” Students will be shown how to plan and design repeating/geometric patterns, safely use relief carving tools, as well as demonstrate the meditative qualities in repetition.
Workshop Material (all included):

6”x6” dyed-fabric squares

Cork (already prepared cork stamps are available for younger students)

Relief carving tools

Fabric paint/printing ink

Thread/yarn/needles (available for students who would like to embroider into their “quilting squares”)

Scrap paper

Ages: 5+
Children aged 15 and under must have accompanying adult.
Dress weather appropriate! The studios are not climate controlled.
